Renee and Jan were on the look out for a small pony gelding to show since the current show team consisted of only mares. Getting older and tired of plaiting, a native breed of pony was in their sights. It was when Renee stumbled upon Helen's Woranora website that she saw photos of Jasper as a foal and enquired. We were so fortunate to be able to purchase him, totally unaware of the influence he will have within our little pony stud. 
Jasper stands right up to height at 11.3hh. A heavy set pony with great bone, feather and movement, he is everything I feel a Welsh Mountain Pony should be. He hasn't always been easy, with a cheeky temperament comes testing times in the show ring during his younger years. Although gelded before arriving to us as a weanling, Jasper possesses very colt-ish traits such as prancing, arching his neck and carrying himself tall. Often mistaken as an entire, we have laughed when previously asked about his service fee charge!
Helen told us that he will reach his best at 4-5 years old and she was right on the money. In his youngstock years he was still a beautiful pony but just wasn't at his peak. As a 3 to 4 year old he flourished and begun grabbing the attention of the show scene. Jasper has always had a very 'look-at-me' presence.
